Protecting Yourself at Bonnaroo This Year

We are only a few short months away from Bonnaroo 2015, and the line-up looks incredible. Ticket sales have been non-stop since the Manchester festival was announced, and it is likely that this year’s festival numbers will be higher than ever.

That means that at least 70,000 people (and potentially even more) will all convene for a long weekend of great music, great food and great fun this June. That also means that local and state law enforcement will be working around the clock to respond to any reports of wrongdoing – alleged or actual. The amount of fines collected in 2013 (the latest available dates) added up to $621,127.75 divided between six different funds, most of which are drug-related.

Drug charges at Bonnaroo

The majority of drug charges deal with possession, but you may also be charged with intent to sell or distribute, or with trafficking if you are caught with illegal drugs coming across state lines. At Bonnaroo, the most commonly found drugs include:

  • Marijuana
  • MDMA, known as Ecstasy or “Molly”
  • Prescription narcotics and pain killers, such as oxycodone or Valium
  • Hallucinogens like mushrooms, though mescaline, peyote and LSD were also found

The majority of these drugs can lead to felony drug charges, which is why it is imperative that you carry a copy of your prescription with you if you are currently taking medication.

Helping families in need

It has been our experience that the majority of clients who seek our help are actually the parents of young adults who have been charged with a DUI, a drug crime or a criminal charge such as theft or disorderly conduct. At the Law Offices of Adrian H. Altshuler & Associates, we represent people from around the country who are facing criminal charges in Tennessee. We can help you coordinate with the local courts and law enforcement to ensure that you are able to be in court when it is necessary, and to represent you when you cannot be physically present. We take your phones calls 24 hours a day, and if your child is being held in jail we will make the trip to visit wherever he or she is. We also help get your child back home to you.
